The Wedding House was built in 1904 by Frances and Reuben Wright as their retirement home. They sold their farm just outside of Kingsville and moved to town with their daughter Rosie. On September 6, 1905, Rosie married Charles Woodbridge and their wedding picture (shown) was taken on the front porch. The marriage took place in the parlour of the house and was written about in our local newspaper, The Kingsville Reporter. After the picture appeared in the paper, the house became a popular place to have wedding pictures taken and thus became known locally as The Wedding House. It was also known as The Wedding Cake House because of the trim around the top of the porch resembling the icing on a wedding cake. Couples still have their pictures taken here and spend their wedding nights in the Wedding Room!

In March of 1997, The Wedding House Bed & Breakfast started a new era for the house. We have been featured since 1998 in The Best Places to Bed & Breakfast in Ontario, a selective guide by Janette Higgins. Articles have also been in The Toronto Star, The Costco Connection, the LCBO Food and Drink magazine and The Windsor Star. We have been named Hospitality Heros by the Windsor, Essex County and Pelee Island Convention and Visitors Bureau. In addition, we are members of the Federation of Ontario Bed & Breakfast Accommodations, The Kingsville BIA, The Windsor Essex County and Pelee Island Convention and Visitors Bureau.
